The highly anticipated LakePoint Sporting Community and Town Center that is currently being built in Emerson recently revealed a new website, as well as new information about the complex.
The new website includes more detailed renderings, 3-D models, video testimonials, background information about the story of LakePoint, information about the partners, a list of available jobs and sponsorship pages.
Additionally, the venue will be home to five separate villages: the Sports Village, the Retail & Entertainment Village, the Medical/Research Village, the Outdoor Adventure Village and the Lake Village.
The Sports Village is the heart of LakePoint with over 17 sports being hosted on-site. This area will have 16 baseball fields, 14 soccer/lacrosse fields, 14 fast pitch softball/junior baseball fields, a 16 acre wake park, a Miracle League Field and an 114,000 square foot indoor facility for gymnastics, wrestling, volleyball, basketball, cheerleading and sports performance training. Additionally, this area will be home to several tenants including Perfect Game USA, Braveheart Sports, The Miracle League, WakePark Atlanta and Shaw Sportexe.
The Retail and Entertainment Village will offer an array of amenities for travel teams and families. This village will include a movie theater, bowling, go karts, restaurants and shops.
The Medical and Research Village will be used to sports related research and development. LakePoint hopes to be a ?living laboratory? for companies engaged in related fields of research.
The Outdoor Adventure Village will be home to outdoor and adventure sports. This area will be complete with a wake park, ropes course, zip line and 300 acres of biking, running and equestrian trails.
Finally, with all of these activities, the complex will need a place for all of its visitors to spend a night or two. Lake Village will be located along the shorelines of Lake Allatoona and will house the resort hotel and restaurant for the complex.
This complex is expected to be one of the largest and most unique amateur sports complexes in the world, with the first pitch set for sometime in 2013. And to make sure you don?t miss out on any of the action, check out great Atlanta new homes in the surrounding area.
